Is God in Your Life?
First, Know God:
- General Revelation | (God's creation: Genesis 1:1-31)
- Special Revelation | (the Bible; miracles; Jesus: John 1:14)
- The Holy Spirit | (His indwelling presence: Romans 8:15-17)
What's Missing?
God knew you before you were born, and created you for a purpose. He wants to be a part of your life. The bad news is, the first two people (Adam and Eve) did not follow God's instructions, and brought eternal separation from God's presence (sin). All people inherited that sin nature. God's only son, Jesus, took the punishment for everyone's sin by dying on a cross, and conquering death by rising from the dead. The good news (the Gospel) is that Jesus' death and resurrection bought us the free gift of being in the eternal presence of God and His Son Jesus. Like any gift, you must accept it to receive its blessings, then acknowledge that you are a sinner. You can start a new life, with new ways. It is not something you can earn or buy; it is by God's grace and mercy if you have faith in Jesus Christ. John 3:16 tells us "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Now What?
Now is the time to make a decision: either spend eternity in God's presence (heaven), or suffer eternally away from God (hell). Once you make the decision to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you can have a personal relationship with Him, and you can turn your life in a different, better direction! A good way to start is to get plugged into a Bible-preaching church like Northside Baptist Church, and fellowship with others who are believers in Christ. When you become a Christian, the Holy Spirit lives within you so that as you read the Bible, discover your spiritual gifts, and fellowship in our Small Group Bible studies, you will be a part of growing God's kingdom, and become a disciple (follower, learner) of Christ.
ABC
Are you ready to give your life to Jesus?
- Admit you are a sinner
- Romans 3:23 All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
- Believe that God raised Christ from the dead
- 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
- Confess that Jesus is Lord
- Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Pray the Sinner's Prayer:
“Dear God,
I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will.
I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
